      2. It’s actually salt sprinkled over the painting while it’s still wet (you can see it in action here: https://callmecaitlin.wordpress.com/2015/04/04/lets-get-some-salt-texture-in-here/ ). And thanks! I was worried it wouldn’t turn out vase-like, but thankfully it did!

  4. Caitlin, I love your illustrations! What kind of paper do you use? What kind of pens?

    1. Hi Brennan! I use cold pressed Arches watercolor paper, the kind that comes in a block. And I use a variety of different sized brushes, even for tiny details.
