Love Is In The Air

All You Need Is Love
Lovebirds in watercolor, 2019

My first completed artwork of 2019!

I recently turned 30, which has filled me with mixed emotions. What did I expect my life would be like at this point? Am I satisfied with how things are? Am I at peace with the path I’m on? What needs to change?

Having my birthday right next to New Year’s has always been interesting. Growing up, it meant stunted parties. Now, it’s a double-whammy of traditional life evaluation dates. For the past 10 years or so, I’ve always had the same New Year’s resolution- “Next year will be better.” It’s nebulous, and can be interpreted in dozens of ways. It doesn’t necessarily mean everything will be better; just something, anything.

But turning 30 is starting to impact me more than I thought it would, and it’s probably time to start having more solid goals going forward, which means I have to start thinking about what those goals actually are.

#1: Prioritize painting again. Hopefully I’m off to a good start. I’m excited to share soon what this painting is for.

  1. Beautiful piece. It inspires me to start up again. The sap’s rising again from Winter. 30 was a turning point for me – a vision of things to come. I wish all the Light and Inspiration your heart desires. in lak’ech, Debra

  2. Such a lovely post! I recently turned 30 too and can relate so much to this. Ultimately, age is just a number but it’s nice to find goals that have meaning to us as individuals; that help us learn and grow. This can start at any age. X
